Matt Update- Matt had his fifth surgery today and is resting comfortably. He will be going back in for # 6 tomorrow. They removed the synthetic skin (protective skin, until donor sites are ready) off of his back and belly. They will recover these ares on Friday. At this time, the surgeons will explore the options for his right thumb. We do know that his baby finger will be amputated down to his second joint. He and I have discussed this and he is aware that this will happen tomorrow. His thumb is in very bad shape as well. It, will be amputated down to his first joint, they will then put a pin in it, graft it and explore different options to gain full range of motion. Please pray! Yesterday, we chilled having every color of popsicles ( some twice), reading letters and cards. He loved all of the words of encouragement . The power of prayers and Matt continues to be our source of strength. Matt is very excited for the week end when Dan Baugh Michael Baugh and Dixie Elliot will be here. His big plan for his dad and brother is figuring out how to keep the boat cool because his face mask and burn garments will be too hot, I am pretty confident that he will do just that and fish on!
