Matthew 6:3-4 ASV But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: that thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee. Good Morning Faith Family. This mornings word comes from Matthew chapter 6. This chapter has several valuable lessons. The first part of this chapter warns us about trying to look good in front of others by giving to those in need. We should not give to receive recognition from others. If we give only for people to see, then we have already received our reward in full. God knows everything that we do in secret, so He will reward us for our deeds. We also have to be careful of how we pray. We should not pray to get attention and use meaningless words to keep praying in front of an audience. God already knows what we need before we even ask Him. We should go to God intimately and express our prayer to Him because of our relationship and faith in His word. This chapter also warns us about fasting. We should not let everyone know how miserable we are because we are not eating. We have already received our full reward from this behavior. We should continue to look and dress normal if we decide to fast. He knows what we do in secret. He will reward us for our commitment. We should not store up valuable things here on this earth. Its ok to have nice things, but those things should not be our focus. We should store all of our valuable things up in Heaven. Our heart is typically with the things that we value. We have to value our salvation and relationship with The Lord more than material things here on earth. The last part of this chapter is one of my favorite scriptures. It talks about worrying. We should not worry about our life. We should not worry about what we will eat or wear. God provides food for the birds in the air and clothes for the fields of grass. Our lives are more significant than birds and grass. If He provides for them, then surely He will provide for us. We have to trust and believe that God will take care of us. Worrying does not change anything. We can either pray or worry, but we cant do both. We should not worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will take care of itself. Today has enough trouble of its own. Once we can trust God completely, He will comfort us and give us peace. Thank You Lord Jesus for these words of reassurance and confirmation. You have given us the blueprint, it is up to us to follow it. You have given us free will to be obedient and serve You. I choose You Dear Lord!!! We give You all of the praise and the glory. In the mighty name of Jesus The Christ, Amen- R.A.D. bible/12/mat.6.3-4.asv
