Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called the Synoptic Gospels. They are - TopicsExpress

Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called the Synoptic Gospels. They are called this because they include many of the same stories, often in the same sequence, and similar wording. On the other hand, sometimes one of the Gospels will sometimes give more information than the others, even in the telling of the same story in the same sequence. This is excellent for us, as disciples of Yeshua, as it helps us flesh out the information that we have more fully. Yet most Christians have taken this in the opposite direction, and have ignored this extra information in order to push certain doctrines. *What is the Great Comission? *What does it mean that the Law and the Prophets were until John? *What are the old and new garments and wineskin? When we let Scripture interpret itself, without inserting the doctrines of men, we see that it will do so perfectly each time, without any contradiction. If we ignore parts of Scripture to push our agenda, we make the same errors that Yeshua chastises the Pharisees for doing, which is adding to and taking away from Scripture, and substituting the doctrines of men for the doctrines of G-d. teshuvaami/wrongly-dividing/
