MattitYahuw5:4 Baruwch are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Mourn: bewail their sins in repentance. The second curse needing reversal is “No pity” (Hushuwa 1:6). YaHuWSHuWaH loosed His unfaithful bride from the curses by dying, so that she could remarry the “new man” who He arose to be. Those who turn from their former ways and return with weeping over their lost condition will find His arms open wide like the father of the prodigal son. 5:5 Baruwch are the meek, for they shall inherit ha-aretz( Land/earth). YashaYahuw 57: 15, Tahallim 37: 11] Meek: those whose power is under control, throwing away their pride and submitting to the benevolent Aluahiym. This is actually an allusion to Tahallim 37:11, and thus to that entire Psalm, which speaks of waiting patiently for YaHuWaH’s timing, since “in just a little while, the wicked will be no more.” Land: can mean “earth”, but all the earth will come up to worship in Yahrushalayim during ha-Mashiyachs Reign (Zech. 14:16-19) Compare the juxtaposition of mourning with the Land in Zech. 12:10-14. 5:6 Baruwch are those who hunger and thirst after tzadiqiym, for they shall be filled in abundance. Those who are far from home in exile are starving to be back in covenant with YaHuWaH again. When we desire and seek Him with all of our heart, He will let Himself be found by us. (YirmiYahuw 29:13 You shall seek Me, and find Me, when you shall search for Me with all your heart.; compare YashaYahuw 55:1-2 “Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat! Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 55:2 Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which doesn’t satisfy? listen diligently to Me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.; Yahuwchanan 6:48-51. I AM the Bread of life. 6:49 Your abbas ate the manna in ha-bemidbar, and they died. 6:50 This is the Bread which comes down out of shamayim, that anyone may eat of it and not die. 6:51 I AM the living Bread which came down out of shamayim. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live le olam waeyd. Yes, the Bread which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.” 5:7 Baruwch are the merciful, for they shall find mercy. The flip side is, “Judgment is without mercy to those who have shown no mercy.” (Yaaqob 2:13) Importantly, this is in a letter that, like this context (especially v. 17-19), emphasizes the importance of obeying the letter of the Torah. But mercy is one of the “weightier matters” in the Ruwach behind the letter. (23:23) For they shall obtain mercy: Aramaic, upon their being befriended. 5:8 Baruwch are the pure in heart, for they shall see Aluah. Pure in heart: Shem-Tob Heb., innocent of heart. See Tahallim 24:3-4, which also speaks of ascending a mountain, the Miqdash Mount, which is probably why YaHuWSHuWaH used this particular act to open his discourse. These will indeed be included in ha-Mashiyach;s Reign, when the resurrected Mashiyach will again embody all that can be seen of YaHuWaH. (Yahuwchanan 1:18 No one has seen Aluahiym at any time. The one and only Ben, Who is in the bosom of the Abba , He has declared Him.) Also compare Psalms 51:10; 73:11. 5:9 Baruwch are those making shalowm (peace, reconciliation, completeness), for they shall be called the Bens of YaHuWaH. (Bney YaHuWaH)
