May 25, 2014 Mile +5K Summary It was a great turnout for this mornings Mile+5K. Despite the humid and warm conditions, Ryan Barrow of Denton ran the fastest Mile ever at our club with a 4:40.56. Previously, it was Noe Nunez 4:44 ran on April 2012. Ryan also won both the Mile & 5K for the 4th straight month! Hal Brown also set a new age-group record in the 5K (75-79) with a 27:13. Yanira Lopez has finished 43 of our Mile races and posted her best Mile(age-graded) and also got the win today. John Kramer also ran his best Mile today. On the 5K, age-graded club PRs were set by Kavita Maung, Bob Stephens, Shieryl Bryan, Antony Isacc, Monica Acosta & Barbara Vollmering. Terry Gonzalez (co-president of the Plano Pacers) won the 5K Female title with a 24:39. Polly Slekis ran with her daughter and female course-record holder, Stefanie, to win the Masters in 24:53. Kim Andres was not far behind with a 25:31 to win the Seniors. On the Male side, Ian Maung was 2nd to Ryan and also Masters winner in 19:52. Julio Lopez got the Seniors with a 23:12.
