May 25 When the campers were asked to pick up trash at the local playground many were skeptical, “I thought camp was supposed to be fun”, they said. Wearing gloves and working as a team, together with the counselors they helped clean the playground. There was some grumbling from Josie who thought she is too much of a princess to pick up trash. As the campers were leaving the playground, a toddler ran up to Josie to say thank you, and she saw that princesses could make the world prettier by lending a helping hand. The generosity of others is at the core of our existence at the Y. It is only through the support of others that we are able to support and give back to the communities we engage.
