May 3 - Apples of Gold Concerning the Christian woman and church leadership, let the Bible speak for itself through 1 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Corinthians 14:33–35,40; and Titus 2:3–5. The plain language of Scripture would seem to preclude a woman’s leadership role as pastor or teacher over men in a church context (1 Timothy 2:12). Scripture would seemingly make allowance, however, for a woman’s role in prayer or prophecy (1 Corinthians 11:5) and in teaching other women (Titus 2:4). But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. —1 Timothy 2:12
