May 8, 2013 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For more information, contact Ashley Opheim at (406) 791-5294 or [email protected] 233 University of Great Falls Students to Join University of Great Falls Family of Alumni The University of Great Falls is celebrating its 80th Commencement with the graduation of 233 undergraduate and graduate students on Saturday, May 10th at 10:00 am in the McLaughlin Center gym. The entire class of 2014, comprised of students graduating in December of 2013, May of 2014, and August of 2014, consists of over 140 Montana students and over 90 from outside of Montana, including students from Morocco, Kenya, Ireland, and St. Kitts and Nevis. The University is expecting approximately 130 students to walk across the stage during Saturday’s Commencement ceremony. Approximately 68 students in the University of Great Falls RN to BSN program will be graduating this year. Baccalaureate will take place on Friday, May 9th at 7:30 pm in the Trinitas Chapel. Student speakers Kylie Diedrich, majoring in business, Pam Harer, majoring in nursing, Naren Maynard, majoring in sociology, and Ellen Nutter, majoring in mathematics, will be speaking on the topic of uncommon courage. The faculty speaker, Dr. Sarah Spangler, will speak about life lessons and things she has learned. Graduating senior Ellen Nutter, a mathematics major and English minor, is taking what she has learned at the University of Great Falls and is continuing her education this fall at Dartmouth College as a PhD candidate in the quantitative biological sciences program. Eugene Cho, founder and visionary of One Day’s Wages and Q Café and Lead Pastor of Quest Church, will address the University of Great Falls Class of 2014 during the Commencement Ceremony. As part of the ceremony, Eugene Cho will be presented with the University of Great Falls Uncommon Courage Award. The University seeks to recognize individuals who demonstrate Uncommon Courage in leading lives of meaning and purpose.
