May I again suggest, respectfully, as I have been suggesting for many years, that the Government of Jamaica collect and assign $2.00 US from each passenger`s fees, fees toward a National Security Fund, which will pay for policing, training and equiping anti-terrorist squads and measures, drug interdiction, immigration and Customs at our airports.. Make the collection and distribution of these funds transparent to the point of monthly posting of collections and expenditure being available for all to see, and to question, on the Internet. It is all well and good to `divest`airports to private entities, who are going to run the facilities ``efficiently,`` but the Jamaican taxpayer, through the Government, still has to pay for the services that make the airports accessible and safe.
