Maybe I know the wrong people (and please note that Im not pointing at anyone here in my friend circle), but I find the pastors I encounter online to be among the most unpleasant of people. Theres something that sniffs of self-serving rhetoric in what I hear from them--Click my blog! Read my thoughts on THIS IMPORTANT SUBJECT The seven things you need to know to be a REAL Christian. (Have you noticed that pastors online have particular trouble with their caps-lock key?) There is also something desperate about their rhetoric, as well as something thin about their insights. I regularly read stuff online and come away with a distinctly bad taste in my mouth. But when I reflect about this stuff, it naturally swings the mirror back around--I write and publish blog posts myself. Sometimes I even ask you to read them. It honestly makes me wonder if I am as odious to you as they are to me, and if thats the case then Im sincerely sorry. Its enough to make me rethink writing and publishing blog posts altogether. (NB: I am most decidedly NOT fishing for affirmation. This is just whats on my mind, and has been for some time. If I have, however, become rather odious to you, please send me a private message so I can apologize more personally.)
