Maybe Irondale can start looking for some dollars to upgrade some heavily used roads, such as the hazardous Overton Road. Personally, I dont care where the dollars come from, just upgrade the roads, with multi-use trails. This is what government does. Every state is moving onward and upward, except Alabama. Jefferson County still has the sewer debt/bankruptcy albatross around its neck. A even larger anchor is the state leadership, graft, arrogance and ignorance - this leading to the bankruptcy scandal. The EPA has/had millions in grant money for Urban Rivers projects. Not one was funded in Alabama. Agencies/organizations either snubbed the EPA or submitted some poor grant proposals. I suspect the earlier. Not one Urban River Project granted in Alabama. Shame on us. The national deficit is now down to 2.9% of the total economy. Time to invest in infrastructure, education and public transit.
