Maybe nothing hits a nerve in my sensibilities as sharply as when folks supporting individuals with disabilities decide to discriminate against individuals labeled as more "severe" "non-verbal" etc. If we are ever going to change societal views that persist describing persons with disabilities from a "deficit" model, then we need to push back against categorizing individuals in this manner. People are not "severe" "educable" "moderate" or any other of these ridiculous labels. Individuals cannot be best described in terms of a label.
