Maybe we should have governments that lead for a friggin change - TopicsExpress

Maybe we should have governments that lead for a friggin change and sit down with all of the stakeholders (oil companies, environmental groups, first nations peoples, ordinary middle class citizens, etc. etc.) and come up with a plan to make environmentally and financially sound decisions on how we move forward with resource development - and yes, both oil and green energies are resource based - amongst others of course - and we then allow enough development so that we have a strong economy and jobs for everyone - invest in schools and health care - and use the oil profits to develop greener energy sources and maybe we even become a world leader in developing energy in a responsible way and even make money from marketing what we have learned and developed to the rest of the world. Thanks for reading the rant....and by governments, I do mean Harper and Redford. When I am in Europe, I see wind farms with Shell and Exxon logos on the structures....oil companies can simply become energy companies when the government shows leadership and brains. Greenpeace Canada Instead of pushing for oil development in the melting Arctic, the Harper government should be investing in green energy. Tell Stephen Harper that you want a future of green energy and to stop the Arctic drilling before it starts: greenpeace.org/canada//noarcticoil/?GC
