Maybe youll think I am full of s**t on this... but Ill say it anyway. When I was 14 years old, I had the privilege of spending a Summer at the Teton Valley Ranch South Ranch outside of Rock Springs, WY. They had a contract with BLM to gather some number of young mustangs as a way to control the population in the Red Desert of Wyoming and provide riding horses for their Jackson Hole kids dude ranch. I owe my Mother for this experience. Gathering the young horses was just a small part of the Summer, the rest was working with these horses to get them used to humans. I did not start horses, or anything like that, all I did was go out and walk around them, work to get them to let me put a halter on and for a few let me lead them. That was it. The professionals there did all of the real work. But riding out there at top speed was something Ill never forget. This GoPro video slid by on my timeline today, and it hit home in so MANY ways.
