Mayor Brady statement on the recent violence in the City: The adoption of this resolution is a step in acquiring funding for seeking a long term solution to the issue of the mindless shootings that recently occurred in communities of Newnan. During the past few days there have been meetings between City officials and community members to address short-term actions. Mayor Pro Tem Jenkins has been instrumental in facilitating those meetings. I know that it is the hope of the peace loving people who live in the effected neighborhoods that a solution be sought that will address the culture of violence and lack of respect for human life that currently exists. The City of Newnan will make every effort to be part of this process of seeking a solution.
