McDowell Highs Josh Dula went 1-2 at the 2013 Super 32 this weekend. The Super 32 is the Nations largest preseason High School National Tournament, held in Greensboro N.C at the Coliseum. It wasnt a great tournament for Dula, but not all bad either, considering the level of competition. The 152 lb weight class was stacked with 81 of the toughest wrestlers in the Nation. Josh drew, New York State Champion and eventual Super 32 Consi-Finalist, Louis Hernandez for his first match of the tournament and dropped a 11-4 Dec, Josh tried to turn it around in wrestle backs winning a 4-2 Dec over Ryan Lopez of West Virginia. Josh received his second loss of the tournament in the 2nd round of wrestle backs at the hands of Pennsylvania State placer, Chad Wickard dropping a 7-2 Dec. Just to be able to compete at this level is an honor and to be able to go toe to toe with three of the best wrestlers in the country and not give up a Major Decision, Tech Fall, or Pin Fall is an accomplishment, for a N.C. kid who never stepped on a wrestling mat til 7th grade. To put this tournament into perspective 112 kids will place in 14 weight classes, 7 will place from N.C and none of those 7 will place higher than 5th place. Josh would like to thank all of those who wished him luck and said a prayer for his safety.
