Me: “God, what’s my purpose?” God: “What do you think it is?” Me: “I don’t know… I thought it was to dance… to ‘glorify’ you… as if you needed that… I only end up showing off myself most of the time… It would suck for that to be my purpose cus I’m not dancing everyday… Is it… to worship you? to have this relationship with you? but then… there are times I feel like I’m not talking to you or you’re not talking to me… and we have these silent moments or I can’t hear you or feel that you’re around… then this would also suck cus I’m not in that much of a GREAT relationship with you… Well then what is it cus I feel so purposeless and I don’t even know what I’m living for… if it is to preach the good news so people will enter into eternal life… Well I’m trying but not doing that everyday… I’m not even bold enough to evangelize in the streets everyday… I wouldn’t want to force it either… All objects and things made by people have a purpose, and if they’re not doing their purpose, then they’re thrown out. Like an mp3 player for example… its purpose is to play music, if it doesn’t play music and is unfixable, you throw it out. I feel like I should be thrown out because whatever my purpose is, I’m not doing it much on a daily basis…” God: “Taeyeonah, you’re right about objects being rendered useless if it cannot do its purpose. But you’re not an object. Let me ask you a question, what is a purpose of a baby once the baby is born?” Me: “Uh… none? just sleep, eat, poop, look cute, and just live? just do nothing? like he/she wouldn’t need a purpose… what can the baby do? just… be.” God: “That is your purpose. To exist. To be.” Me: “So… I don’t have to do anything? I can be achieving my purpose by just existing? now that makes me feel inspired to do other stuff and be productive because my identity and purpose is already established. Existing. So… I don’t have to worry about doing something and failing because that doesn’t mean I fail at my purpose, cus I will still be existing even if I fail. But when I die? oh but I will resurrect when Jesus comes back so I will continue to exist… So my purpose is failsafe… oh… so I’ve been worried about nothing…” God: “Yeah, and you’re not quite right about all objects needing to have a purpose or be thrown away. Collectible items’ purpose is also just to exist, just stand there and be itself. Although I’m not saying you’re like a collectible, cus you can move around and do stuff.
