Measure L Question of the Day: What is Measure L and how will it work? Measure L is a countywide half-cent sales tax with the proceeds entirely dedicated to projects benefiting Lake County waterways, especially Clear Lake. Money from Measure L will pay for: • Reducing the severe negative impact that noxious algal blooms and nuisance aquatic weeds have on our quality of life, attraction for visitors, and broader economy • Keeping quagga mussels and other invasive species out of Clear Lake and other county waterways • Paying the county’s share of the critical Middle Creek Project and other wetland restoration efforts • Funding mandated water quality programs not fully paid for by state and federal agencies
