Mechanical Fitter Job in Kenya A well-established company operating one of the most efficient thermal Power Plant in Kenya located in the coastal region is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter in the Maintenance department. The incumbent will report to the Chief Mechanical Engineer (CME) and will work in a team in mechanical section to maintain thePower Plant in a safe, efficient, effective and economical manner. Key Responsibilities Carry out necessary maintenance work on specific equipment as assigned and provide updates and report on status of assignments that have been executed. Perform plant improvement and modification work on equipment and installations. Ensure that all work is carried out to the highest quality standard and thoroughly checked before the job is reported completed. Welding and fabrication of equipment as required. Participate, in collaboration with the CME, in continuous development of a weekly schedule while determining job priorities and complete other tasks as requested. Ensure compliance with company safety and health procedures and statutory regulations. Ensure completion of necessary documents as per Standard Operating Procedures and enter the data into the AMOS system. Liaise frequently with the CME and Operations Department to assess the current running condition of all equipments as well as ascertain whether any unscheduled maintenance is required. Liaise regularly with the Electrical Maintenance section in order to maintain a seamless maintenance operation between the electrical and mechanical maintenance units. Available for on-call duties when required and as described by management. Minimum Qualifications HND/ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering A mean grade of C in KCSE or equivalent 3 years experience in similar industry (i.e. Energy Sector) or 5 years experience in a similar capacity in a different industry/ sector Practical experience with Power Plant installations. Experience in the MS-Office and AMOS computerized maintenance programs. Fluent in English and Swahili, both written and verbal. Has good reporting and communicating skills. Adjust quickly to new situations. Flexible attitude towards working partners.
