The Opportunity We are looking for a Mechanical Trades Person to provide critical shut down task management, isolations, work order execution and general maintenance to ensure the operational availability of Fixed Plant assets. Rio Tinto Alcans Weipa mine is located 900km north-west of Cairns on the Gulf of Carpentaria and has been operating for over 50 years. What the role entails This role is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical tradesperson to work as part of our safe, friendly and dedicated team. Working a 12Hr Day/Day 4 on 4 off roster and reporting to the Crew Leader, you will be: •Implementing effective maintenance practices to the beneficiation plant •Maintaining belts, crushers, stackers and ship loading facilities •Ensuring the operational availability and success of designated plant equipment What you will need for this role To succeed in this role, you will have: •Mechanical Fitter or Fitter Machinist trade qualification •Significant post trade experience in fixed plant equipment maintenance within mining or heavy industry •The ability to communicate effectively within a team environment •A commitment to ensuring Zero Harm safety culture So if this sounds like you and the opportunity you are looking for, apply now...
