Media Advisory U.S. Department of Labor | Oct. 6, 2014 “Findings on the Worst Forms of Child Labor” report to be announced by US Labor Secretary Perez on Tuesday, Oct. 7 WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez will release the 13th edition of the Department of Labor’s “Findings on the Worst Forms of Child Labor” report, which covers more than 140 countries and territories tomorrow, Oct. 7. The report not only provides an assessment of their efforts, but it also suggests actions they can take, to eliminate the worst forms of child labor through legislation, enforcement mechanisms, policies and social programs by reporting whether a country has made significant, moderate, minimal or no advancement. Secretary Perez will also be announcing the recipients of a federal grant to implement a global project designed to support countries that want to improve their capacity to combat child labor.
