Media Cell press release Number 273 dated - 08/12/2014 On the occasion of Voter Awareness programme(SVEEP), a 27kms long human chain, perhaps one of its kind in India, was formed today dated 8th of December, 2014 from Ambedkar Chowk(D.C. Chowk), Dumka to Jarmundi Chowk. D.C. Dumka, Shri Harsh Mangla said that all the government and non-government organizations have supported to make the human chain successful. He exhorted the people to participate in the voting day with same enthusiasm as they did today. He said that this time also the voting percentage of Dumka will be highest in the state. D.C. travelled 27kms in the open vehicle all the way from Dumka to Jarmundi and encouraged people to join the human chain. In this human chain various government, middle and high schools, private schools namely Siddhu Kanhu, St. Joseph Middle School, St. Teresa Dudhani, Decent Academic, Fasiadagal Children’s, Bal Sainik school, Shivpahad, Dumka, Middle school Maharo, High school Mission Maharo, St. Xavier College, St. Joseph school, Dumka, S.S. Vidya Vihar, Dumka, Modern Public school, Daffodil public school, Jarmundi public school, Jarmundi, Model high school, Jarmundi, St. Joseph, and Gyan Manjari, government colleges and private colleges namely St. Xavier College, Campus Ambassador, Gandhian ITI students, block level officers and staff, rojgar sewak, panchayat sewak, krishak mitra, anganwadi workers/helpers, members of self help groups, dealers of public distribution system, MGNREGA staffs, watchmen, sports association, Panchayati Raj Institute and many non-government organization like members of Lok Prerna have participated.The following sites were demarcated in every kilometer for joining the human chain:- KM Place KM PLACE 1 DC Chowk 15 Power station Jama 2 Kusum Gas Agency 16 Health Centre 3 Holi Child Dudhani 17 Sugnibad 4 Pusaro Bridge 18 Ganchhua mor Sugnibad 5 Haripur 19 Aasanthar 6 Babupur Petrol Pump 20 Kasturva High School Aasanthar 7 Kusiaro Bridge 21 Baleshwar Hotel 8 St. Xabiar’s College Maharo 22 Sardiha 9 Modern English School 23 Shamshan kali mandir 10 Myurakchhi Bridg Maharo 24 Bus Stand basukinath 11 Mundmal 25 Petrol Pump Navadih 12 Mangur Dih Mor 26 High School Haripur 13 Silanda Nursery 27 Jarmundi Chowk 14 GHoribad Aasanjor At every kilometer supervisor was deputed to facilitate the formation. The common people also enthusiastically participated in this campaign.
