MEDIA STATEMENT Oct. 3, 2014 A statement from Jeff Erickson, CEO of PEOPLExpress: PEOPLExpress let our customers down when we announced a suspension of service. We inconvenienced many people. And for that we offer our heartfelt apologies. While no amount of apology or refund will make up for that lost meeting, vacation, family gathering or sporting event, we have made every effort to listen to our customers. We know they are frustrated. We know they are upset. And they should be. We simply had no other choice but to temporarily suspend service due to aircraft maintenance issues so we can achieve a reliable schedule and, more importantly, ensure a safe operation. We are committed to correcting our problems and we are going to go back to what we set out to do in the first place – making flying accessible while providing a vital service for our community. But we’ve got a lot of work to do. Here’s what we’re working on in the meantime: • We have provided full, round-trip refunds to all of our affected customers, including any additional fees they paid. • We emailed all customers affected by flight cancellations. • The fares paid by customers with upcoming trips are being held in escrow in case refunds are necessary. • We’ve also encouraged customers to contact us via our call center at 844.4FLYPEX (844.435.9739), chat online at flypex, e-mail us at customerrelations@flypex or post on our Facebook page. We know we disappointed our loyal customers and our community. But we have been working hard to regroup. And the feedback we’ve received has been helpful in our efforts to get it right. On behalf of the dedicated team at PEOPLExpress, I again say to our customers and our community: We are sorry. While we don’t have all the details finalized yet, we are working toward our resumption.
