Medical Office Staff (Fox Chapel) Full-time position available immediately in a very busy plastic surgery center, and spa. The candidate must have a minimum of three years working in a medical office setting. Surgery scheduling, prior-authorizations, and insurance knowledge for verification a plus. Some duties to include, but are not limited to: Greeting patients, spa clients, and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries; accurately documenting messages. Checking-in patients and properly documenting registration. Collecting co-pays from patients, as well as collection and application of payment for spa clients. Insurance verification and maintenance of patient accounts including verification of and updating patient demographics and financial information. Obtaining proper referral for appointments as necessary. Retrieving medical records and delivering to appropriate providers. Communicating with patients and providers via telephone and organizational email. Optimizing patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling patient appointments in person or on the telephone. Keeping patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patients arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays. Comforting patients by anticipating patients anxieties; answering patients questions; maintaining the reception area. Reminding patients and spa clients of upcoming appointments and tracking missed appointments Scanning and filing medical records in Electronic Health Record system. Filing patient and administrative files. Copying and faxing duties. Maintaining business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies. Maintaining operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to the management. Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Performing other duties as assigned. You must be pleasant, out-going and highly energetic.
