Meditating for Mental Focus. Many of our initial associations with meditation can be really far-out and vague seeming, but in truth, meditation starts at the most basic level with learning to focus your mind. Slowing down the stream of incessant thinking and just being where we are. This has so many benefits: * A sense of being present and alert instead of on auto-pilot * Greater appreciation of the moment we are in * The capacity for self aware mindfulness —which allows us to be more responsive and less reactive, more free and effective. This type of mental focus is central to learning and practicing meditation. You can learn and practice this meditation (also featured in the FREE video in the comments section) with me as part of the Everyday Enlightenment workshop on Sunday! ** But sign-up soon, because there are only 8 spots left available before we have to completely close the doors...** The Santa Monica Yoga workshop information is as follows: Everyday Enlightenment: 5 Simple Keys to Clarity, Compassion and Mind-Body Healing Sunday January 25 2 - 5 pm * 5 Key Meditation Techniques * Blissful deep stretches * Journaling exercises to deepen and integrate the insights * Accessible and highly effective method * Informed by modern neuroscience Join me!
