Meet Audrey - Alto EXECUTIVE POSITION: Publicity Co-ordinator Audrey is a career stage actor. Shes been acting for over twenty years and completed her formal training at U of Ts drama program, UCDP. Audrey first set foot onstage when she was but a four-year-old drama princess at a piano recital. After merrily and mercilessly butchering Mary Had a Little Lamb, Audrey knew she should be onstage, just not with a piano. Her first brush with singing was listening to her mothers very....creative renditions of songs from the Little Mermaid. Audrey, already exhibiting signs of a no-covers purist, responded regularly to her mothers serenade by bellowing in a think Hebrew accent for her to ZZZZSTOP! However, musical massacre indeed runs in the family, with her fathers reinterpretation of American love songs into hilariously violent and offensive French versions. In short, a complete disrespect for music theory and practice was in her blood from the start. At Thornhill Secondary School, Audrey flourished further in drama under the terrifying reign of the late Mr. Jamie Graham - the most profound influence on her life as an actor. In order to avoid math and science, Audrey conned her way into music theory classes, somehow receiving straight As from a teacher that was later fired! Awkward! At U of T, Audrey had the privilege of being trained at the UCDP by some of the legends of Canadian theatre, such as Ken Gass, Steven Bush, Sallie Lyons, and Cindy Block. Here, she excelled at clown, stage combat, and Stanislavskian method acting. It was also during this time that she first became involved with the UC Follies and eventually founded her own theatre company, Seventh Method Productions. She even co-hosted a highly-celebrated Youtube series, exclusively about the TTC, called Finch to Museum with Erin and Audrey. Audrey had a bumpy start at the Varsity Jews. It seems as though she didnt understand what blending meant, not understanding the idea of standing on a stage and not getting the audience to see and hear only you. We prefer the term attention-oriented, she says. However, five years into her life in the choir, shes kind of starting to sort of get a little closer! Today, Audrey is completing her masters degree and cannot wait to get back to the theatre. She also looks forward to many more years, performances, science experiments, and traffic jams with the VJs. #MeetTheVJs #ShofarSoGood Audrey is represented by AAB Talent.
