And that time too, the plan of reimporved Tosa class battlecruiser; Amagi class battlecruiser. Amagi and Tosa class was supposed to be new 16 inch battlecruiser class intended to fill the Imperial Japanese navy sacred 8-8 battleship fleet; an attempt by the japanese to achieve that by owning 16 battleships. She, alongside her sister ship Amagi was scheduled to be finished in the late 1920-ish. the 3rd and 4rth Akagi class ;Atago and Takao was planned when Washington Naval treaty was signed. both Atago and Takao was later cancelled and the project soon changed by converting the 3 ships into an aircraft carrier. While Tosa was cancelled out from the project, and was handed to the IJN as gunnery target and later sunk in February 1925.The September 1923 Great Kantō earthquake however damaged Amagi, so she was abandoned; since Akagi suffered little damage. the way to identify which is Akagi and Kaga is that Akagis island is situated port of the ship while Kagas island is placed starboard from the ship. They both used in the raid of Pearl harbor and both sank during the battle of midway.
