Meet Linda Oman, one of OSHRM’s Northwest District representatives This is Linda’s second time as an OSHRM Board member. She was also on the OSHRM Board from 2007-2010 and was President during 2009. Linda began her journey into risk management in 2001 when she attended the risk management certification course offered jointly by OHIC and Ohio University. She knew she had found the career path she wanted when she realized she could help improve the care and safety of patients. She went on to obtain her CPHRM certification in 2010. Linda has worked in healthcare for 35 years in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, giving her many opportunities to use her performance improvement and risk management skills. She is currently at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton as the Director of PI/RM, Compliance Officer but her journey started at Fremont Memorial Hospital and led her to Henry County Hospital and the Risk Management & Patient Safety Institute (now part of Coverys). Linda attended the University of Phoenix while working full time and received a BS in Healthcare Administration/Management in 2012. She tells people she is a life-long learner and wants to be an example to others that you are never too old to learn and should strive to achieve your goals no matter how long it takes.
