Meet Maisie. Maisie was a 6 year old scottie girl that was living with horrible allergies and left un-spayed outside much of the time. She had many litters of mixed puppies over the years despite the condition she was in. She was posted on Craigs List and when STRSE found out about her in May 2014, we started to work. Doing everything we could to get her into rescue and immediately to a vet. She was in such bad shape that the original treating vet said she was within days of dying. It took two weeks of constant daily vet care and meds before it was safe to even spay her. Maisie had a lot of people rooting for her all over the country and STRSE started treating her right away. We changed her diet to a premium limited ingredient dog food. She went through several rounds of antibiotics due to her terrible skin infections. Ultimately she saw a doggie Dermatologist and was put on other meds to manage her allergies. She had horribly infected ears that took months and many vet visits to clear up. As you can see, she was literally rock bottom...and just look at her now! She spent 3 1/2 months in foster due to her extreme medical issues and needs. Maisie now lives with a wonderful family and has 3 Scottie sisters to pass the time squirrel chasing, treat eating and romping the house, playing with toys!! This is what your much appreciated donations help support. As you can see, there are many dogs who need extensive veterinary care when we get them, which can get very costly...fast.
