Meet Megan Garrett our newest intern! Megans love for art, art making, and interacting with others collided when she was first introduced to art therapy. One afternoon, an ex had pulled off his abundant shelves a book about art therapy, handed it to her, and told her she needed to know about it. Thanks to him and that true ah ha inspiring moment, shes interning with us at the 100th Monkey Studio. After her discovery of Art Therapy as a field, Megan, a former Spanish major, quickly got her Bachelors of Psychology at Portland State University with a heavy arts supplement. She has always found it essential to designate time for art making, and continues to be mesmerized by the artistic growth and therapeutic restoration creating provides her. Megan hopes to attend graduate school to pursue a career in Art Therapy or Art Education in the future. Megan loves to explore thrift stores and discover treasures. Always inspired by the details of nature, she enjoys being in the outdoors adventuring. Doing yoga, hanging out her furry and not so furry friends, taking super hot baths, getting pedicures, and finding any excuse to dress up and try new foods and restaurants, are among the many joys Megan finds in life. the100thmonkeystudio/teachers--leaders.html
