The Musical, and Heart Shaped Vinyl. She participated in Deviouss six month residency entitled In The Future When Alls Well in Kilkenny Arts Office in 2011 and has toured to a variety of theatre festivals including Galway Theatre Festival, TEXT Messages (Project Arts Centre), Solstice (Cork Midsummer Festival) and The Theatre Machine Turns You On Volume II (Project Arts Centre). Other theatre credits include TEXT/Messages (Project Arts Centre), Voices In The Rubble (Sheer Tantrum). Amys Radio work includes Word Play, Rebecca Morans Behind Closed Doors (KCLR 96FM), Vultures and the PPI award winning The War Of The Worlds (Devious Theatre). Onscreen credits include Daffney Molloy And Other Catastrophes, Vultures, Baby Love (Mycrofilms), Waking The Witch (Quincy Films), Stealaway and Lilys Bad Day (Young Irish Film Makers). 1) When was your first theatrical experience? In Dreamstuff’s Youth Theatre’s production of Monty Pyton’s Life Of Brian in 2001. I played the role of Judith, Brian’s love interest. 2) How do you deal with nerves or stage fright? Deep breaths always seem to work! I drink lots of water and do lots of stretches before going on stage. It helps me focus and relax. 3) What other hobbies apart from theatre do you like? I enjoy singing but haven’t done much properly in ages so it’s something I’d like to get back into. I love walking & enjoy travelling. 4) What was your most favourite character to play? That’s a tough one! I’ve been very fortunate to play a great mix of characters over the years. I enjoy comedic roles the best so I’d say Cat in Devious Theatre’s production of Smitten. It’s a brilliantly written part and I got to enjoy some hilarious scenes while singing and dancing at the same time so that was an added bonus! 5) Why do you think the people of Kilkenny should go see theatre? I think you really can’t beat live theatre. It’s unfolding right in front of you and it really is great to experience that. I work at the Watergate so I get to see all kinds of theatre and I think it’s a wonderful thing to support. Theatres all over the country have taken a hard hit over the last number of years. I think people assume the likes of the Watergate will always be here. But if people don’t come out and support that sadly won’t be the case. It’s important people support their local theatre and not take it for granted.
