Meeting a new patient... I need to set up some social services for him... He continues to apologize for his Nazi tattoos and keeps saying hes not a racist and how he feels shame when he seems them. His rationale - in prison one has to do the necessary to stay safe. My response... There is no judgment from my side. You are free to be who you are... I also showed him the Hindu Swastika sign and the connection and beauty I choose to see in that symbol... I shared the power in the Hindu Swastika....and how we Hindus see this symbol as a representation of good not evil. Hindus do not typically convert anyone but Im seeing a Hindu sparkle in his eyes. (smile) :-)
