Meeting with Global Union Federations Since last two year I have been involved with the labor issues in Myanmar. I never had the plan to be part of the labor movement. However- I and my friends from universities discussed about forming teachers unions according to the labor oganization law that was approved in 2012 and we actuallly implemented our plans by forming four teachers´ unions at the end f 2012. This was actually the begining of me to involve in the labor movement that came along with the process of liberalization to democracy in Myanmar. I was the secretary of the teachers union of Yangon University. In April 2013 I was elected by the labor uions in Myanmar to be the advior of the worker delegate to 102th International Labor Conference (ILC). Again in 2014 I was nominated by the Myanmar Trade Unions Federation (MTUF- I am one of the founding members of this federation) and the Agriculture and Farmers Federation of Myanmar(AFFM). This time I was nominated as the worker delegate to the 103th ILC in Geneva. After coming back from ILC I was transferred to Monywa University by the ministry of education. We-teachers- opposed the national education law as we perceived it as being centalized. Some of our friends were also transfered though we are not sure whether this was the retaliation by the ministy of education. Since coming back from GSID I always remember our sensei pofesso Kimura and all other professors who taught me about international politics and development. I also remember all my friends from GSID. Thanks professors and friends.
