Megan Lewis, a Rising Stars All-American Catcher and 5 year varsity starter for the Corning Hawks, will sign her National Letter of Intent to play softball for Adelphi University on Long Island. The signing will be Wednesday, November 13th at 3:30 pm in the West High School Media Center. Lewis, an all-league selection since her freshman year and third year team captain, was chosen by Top Prospects as a top catcher for 2013. Having only one stolen base against her in the entire 2012 season, she poses a major threat behind the plate. Her arsenal includes a 63 mph overhand throw, complemented by a 1.78 second pop time. Throughout her tenure the Hawks secured both a Morabito Tournament championship, as well a NYS Section IV, Class AA Sectional Title. Currently playing travel ball for the TC Tremors Gold in Binghamton, NY, she has also played for the NJ Nightmare Gold based out of Hamilton, NJ. Through the years her travel teams have won numerous ASA State Championships, as well as contended for national titles. A National Honor Society member with a 94 GPA and impressive list of service to her community, Lewis excels not only behind the plate, but in the classroom and the community as well. At Adelphi, her major is currently undecided, and she has set the goal of leading the Panthers to their first ever softball national championship.
