Melanie Devaney is a Los Angeles based Americana singer-songwriter originally from the state of Iowa. She is a former Colgate Country Showdown finalist and was listed in Music Connection magazine’s Top 100 Unsigned Artists to look for in 2011. Devaney tours throughout the United States, with a heavy concentration of shows in the West and Midwest. Even though one could say she was born with a broken heart, she is anything but weak. Heart surgery at age four made her poignantly aware of lifes fragility, but nonetheless determined to make it beautiful. She started her career as a singer-songwriter in 2006 after years of studying classical piano and graduating college with a degree in creative writing. Her writing tends toward stick-in-your head melodies and vivid imagery. Live performances are attention-grabbing and often feature some quirky monologues that showcase her wry sense of humor.
