Melissa Rhodes Wormald Hi, I am glad my sis n law found this page for me I am in need of support and guidance. I am a 45 yr old mother of three, 27,21,17. My 2 older children are both heroin addicts, my son the 21 yr old started with pills and moved on to heroin it is more affordable so i am told. Hes been addicted for just about 3 yrs now and has stolen just about every piece of jewelry I own. He introduced the drug to my daughter who is now just as addicted and like him also took from me to support her habit. My children... best friends used together shared a most wicked thing. She has 3 beautiful children which by the grace of God are being well taken care of by their father, hes never used. Ive paid off dealers, Ive purchased Suboxone, bailed them out of jail and the cycle continues to repeat itself. My daughter tried to kill herself 2 times she has been in and out of rehabs, and mental hospitals for over 4 yrs. This is a child who pulled a 4.0 in college and now? A slave to her addiction, constant torment. My son recently arrested and charged with a felony theft (my jewelry again), he is now back in jail with my daughter. I dont know how else to help my children I believe Ive only caused them to go backwards by enabling them. I am a loving parent there are no boundaries when it comes to my children but you see in the end all my attempts have been fruitless. The anguish I feel is unbearable at times, and this i carry for all the addicts in the world. People are cruel and judgmental, believe me Ive heard it all, I pray for those people i hope they NEVER have to endure what myself and millions of other people have to for their children and /or loved ones.
