Meliès invented the first special effects, yet it is only noted - TopicsExpress

Meliès invented the first special effects, yet it is only noted here. The one thing I always find amazing about film historians or critics when discussing cinema & literature from the early days such as Meliès, Ingram, Maughn, Lang, Murnau etc, to later influential directors such as Goddard, Fellini, Bergman etc is the way they consistently ignore, or wipe from history their fascination or involvement with the occult. All of those mentioned above included narrative, hidden symbolism or had some kind of dealing with the dark side. Yet even acedemics choose to ignore it. But its a fact non the less. This will be in one if the chapters in my book on Demonology & The Occult In Film & Media.
