Melkam Addis Amet to all (Happy Ethiopian New Year 2007) As usual for every year, on September 11, 2014 (in the next two days) Ethiopia and Ethiopian people will celebrate the Ethiopian New Year 2007. Im sure that the flavor of the celebration of the New Year for this year (2007) will differ completely from the celebrations of previous years where that Ethiopia is after the lean years and the economic recession. The world is witnessing that Ethiopia is currently walking in the footsteps of development and prosperity for the world of progress and for the sake of prosperity of the nation of Ethiopians and Africans and this is led by Ethiopia. Every human being in the world and anyone who loves beloved Ethiopia cannot deny what each of his eye sees; the development and prosperity for the new Ethiopia. As usual, the new Ethiopia is the heartbeat of the African countries where Ethiopia in these days are getting many great vocations and real investments widespread from all over the world and what caught my attention, the great love in which we hold always to Ethiopia and the Ethiopian people, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, wants to make Ethiopia the main team to assist the desired development for all African countries. Lets summarize the most important characteristic in the celebrations of the Ethiopian New Year every year. In every New Year, for Ethiopians, you cannot distinguish between the poor, the rich, the trader, and even the person who is responsible in the government! Everybody is equal, you cannot distinguish between the young ones or the old ones, everyone is involved in the celebrations of the New Year, I mean in wearing the traditional clothes, national food and beverages, and traditional folk dances. You can see the true love and joviality permeated in their faces and in their hearts and you can also see and find the beauty of the flowers and decorations everywhere and every corner in Ethiopia. As we have said, everyone is equal! What I like in the celebrations of the New Year, when they slaughter a cow, their method of distribution of meat to the family and close associates, the preparation method layers Ethiopian food and the method of presenting their food. They have to eat a special dish equipped by the housewife, her happy family (the mother), calls it Doro Wat and after having the meal, they sit down and talk to the family and they serve traditional bread in which is called Himbasha or Ethiopian Ambasha. The owner of the family (the father) cuts the bread and then distributes it to the audience and then makes the coffee in an authentic Ethiopian traditional manner and all the secrets come in the thrill of the smell of the authentic Ethiopian food which are ghee and pepper, and this is prepared earlier, I mean MITMITA & BERBERE Wow! What distinguishes the new year celebrations, is the presence of all the members of the family from everywhere and cities to meet together and absentees in the Diaspora do not forget in this day to do the duties of the family, where they increase the financial aid that they usually help and send money to the family members and then call to talk with all the members of the family. There is a lot to talk about the authentic traditions of the people of Ethiopia ‘’which cannot ink in the worlds writing’’, but I will talk today shortly in what are the great memories that passes through my mind so I can be one of the participants and equitable for the New Year celebrations of Ethiopia (2007), and I conclude this topic by saying that what distinguishes the Ethiopians are the cleanliness in all things and to be able to close your eyes and eat without being assured if eating is clean or not. What a beautiful love I have in my heart to my beloved Ethiopia. We wish to all our beloved Ethiopian families in Ethiopia and everywhere in the world a blessed new year 2007, filled with love, health, joy and more progress for Ethiopia and Africa.
