Member Dan Marks, writing earlier at Firedoglake, opposes the proposed Constitutional amendment that was just approved by the Senate. This is important; I encourage everyone to take a look: the Udall Amendment, the focus of these discussions, does nothing to fix the problem it merely hands over power to Congress and State legislatures with a blank check to regulate political speech. ... There are much better amendments proposed that would directly address the problem of money in politics [listed by Dan] ... Obviously if you are serious about correcting the oligarchic nature of our nation, we cannot rely on Congress to solve the problem. America needs to assemble in an Article V Convention to propose amendments and come to consensus on which of these proposals is right for us. Do not look to the President, Congress, or the Supreme Court to guide us out of the darkness. This is beyond all of them. There is something special going on in the world today that is beyond political. It is evolutionary and spiritual.
