Bangladesh Foundry and Engineering Works Ltd was formed in 1975 by a few experienced Engineers with a view to creation an organization which will augment technical expertise in the field of production of engineering products as well as construction of industrial plants and equipment. Since 1983, the company took part in various tender for construction, fabrication and erection works of steel structures, industrial buildings, vertical steel storage tanks, stainless steel vessels, as well as chemical plants. The company undertook various manufacturing works of machines and equipment as well as site construction works involving civil, mechanical, piping, insulation, painting, electrical and instrumentation. BFEW is distinguished by its boldness of vision, courage and confidence it displays in taking on the toughest challenges. The ability to take on challenges has enabled us to successfully execute projects that have been new to our experience. Some major projects completed by BFEW: In 90’s BFEW: Construct 5 storied Hostel building for the expatriates & hostel for the Bachelors officers & a 60m high overhead water tank and river bank protection work at Tarakandi, Jamalpur district. Erection of Machinery for expansion of Chhatak Cement plant including cement mill, electrostatic precipitator, kiln and other equipment and accessories. Fabrication, erection and cladding works of container freight station, workshop and garage at the backup facility of the Multipurpose Berth A & B for Chittagong Port Authority. Fabrication, erection, electrification and instrumentation work of a molecular Sieve Turbo Expander type Gas Treatment Plant 90mm cfd at Kailshtilla in Sylhet district. Gas Treatment Plant at Lakatura- Sylhet for Jalalabad Gas Treatment plant with job of fabrication of pipe spools, erection of mechanical equipment, piping works, erection of pre-engineered building, mechanical erection word, construction of tank, electrical instrumentation and commissioning works. Construction of 2 nos women students hall, capacity 500 nos in each, 4 storied including electrical, sanitary etc. Land development work for jalalabad Gas plant, Camp site and Drill site by cutting and grading of hills. Construct of a 4.5 Km × 5.2 M heavy Duty all weather road through forest and hill at Sylhet including 17 R.C.C. Box culverts. Construction works including civil work and piling, piping structural fabrication, erection electrification instrumentation and commissioning of all mechanical & electrical equipment for 5000 TPA LPG Plant at Kailashtilla, Sylhet. In 2000’s BFEW: Construct 2 numbers LTS type Gas Treatment plant at Brahmanberia, Lubricant Blending plant of Mobile Jamuna at Patenga, Chittagong which includes Civil, Piling, Foundation, generator building, piping, mechanical erection, electrification, instrumentation and commissioning. The work also include 5 km 4” cross country piping work for condensate. Construction of 9 km long 16”dia cross country pipe line, near Dhaka including water crossing, railway & highway crossing & construction of valve station for Titas Gas Transmission & 22 km 30” dia cross country gas pipeline & a 6” dia condensate line in the Bibiyana gas pipeline construction project also includes 2 nos valve station and hill boring by HDD method & 14” gas pipe line 23 km form Moulavibazar Gas Treatment Plant to Musai metering station including river crossing & construction of one valve station. Cement Plant construction for Holcim & 3Cemex including structural steel warehouse, fabrication of mechanical equipment, Bin, Hopper, Bag fitter & erection of all mechanical & electrical items.
