Members of the Sierra Leonean Muslim Association of Boston Inc., including myself, went to visit Brother Lansana Sidibay today August 24th, 2014, who is recovering from an ailment, to offer him some prayers, love and moral support at 735 Randolph Street in Canton, MA 02021. More so because of his role in his family at home and our community. As a secretary general in our organization Brother Lansana is very active and has played many important roles to enable our organization to get to where it is today. All members that attended offered prayers and consolation to him to feel strong and to enable him to make a speedy recovery for the good of his family and the community. As always, brother Moses Bangura started by talking of the importance of visiting a muslim brother in difficulties and turmoil said by our prophet Muhammed (PBUH) and quoted verses from the Hadith regarding that. Illustrating the empathy that Muslims are required to feel for each other, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said, “The parable of the believers in their mutual love and mercy is like that of a living body: If one part of it feels pain, the whole body suffers in sleeplessness and fever.” Muslim over another Muslim are six… When you meet him, you greet him with the salaam (i.e. to say: as-salamu alaykum); when he invites you, you accept his invitation; when he consults you in a matter, you give him sincere advice; when he sneezes and praises Allah, you ask Allah to have mercy on him; when he is sick, you visit him; and when he passes away, you follow his funeral.” Then he passed the mic to Brother Alusaine Deen who is also a senior member in our organization to say something regarding our visit and the importance of our unity as Sierra Leoneans in this community. He also talked of the importance of love and that he is very proud to see us all coming together. He also passed on the mic to another senior member of our organization Brother Umaru Bayoh who preached more on the same topic, may Allah bless him and prolong his life for the good of our community, Ameen. He passed on the mic to Brother Abu Bakarr Bah, who made prayers on behalf of the sick and talked of the importance of African men ignorance to their counterpart women and his opinion about that and why it is necessary for men to treat women with respect. That will take everyone to a long future. He passed the mic onto Imam Ibrahim Savage who lamented on the importance of unity in families and in communities, and the love he has for the Sidibay family and why he is happy to see the Sidibay family united, and made many prayers about love, unity and hypocrisy in our community, (oh Allah put hypocrisy aside). Then came the prayers by the only Christian at the gathering Sister Aminata Bangura, who talked about love, unity and why it is important and that love covers everything. Love is greater than all religion and surpasses all human connections and made many prayers regarding love and unity, then she passed the mic onto me, Kemoh Sidibay. I thanked everyone in our community for visiting Brother Lansana Sidibay who is a very valuable member in our community and a very loving, mild and kind hearted brother, so loved by our dear Imam Ibrahim Savage. May God bless him for his sincerity and love. Sister Aminata Saccoh was very happy to be in the gathering and Imam Savage talked about his goodness and hard work in our community and also sister Ma Kady who has done equally and a very brilliant woman in our community. May God bless brother Lansanas wife Bintu Sidibay because of her tireless effort to her dear husband and her husband also acknowledged her contribution for the family and why he was sorry for his late acknowledgement. Our organization does not have any discrimination and everyone is treated with love and kindness. We wish happiness and prosperity for everyone, including our members. God bless all those who attended this event:
