Memento Mori... One of the most famous examples of a Momento Mori Inscription is found in Masaccios Santa Trinità (Holy Trinity) Fresco, 22 feet x 12 feet, 1425 This work is a fresco located in Santa Maria Novella in Florence, Italy, depicting a representation of the Christian Holy Trinity was commissioned by unknown patrons to adorn a chapel. What is interesting in a masonic sort of way is the use of math and specifically geometry to create the linear perspective in the work. It is widely accepted that Filippo Brunelleschi, a master builder and architect who discovered linear perspective, was on site helping the young artist plan out the faux architecture of the work. At the bottom of the works a cadaver tomb with a skeleton on it reads IO FU[I] G[I]A QUEL CHE VOI S[I]ETE E QUEL CH[] I[O] SONO VO[I] A[N]C[OR] SARETE which translates as I once was what you are and what I am you also will be
