Memorial services for Maurice Ashcraft will be this Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 2:00PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I want to take this opportunity to say that Maurice was one of the greatest men I have ever known and I have known him for a very long time. He was an outstanding lawman, fair and professional, honest and the very definition of integrity. He was loved by all who knew him, family and friends alike. My memories of working with Mo in CID at the Sheriffs Office will always be some of my fondest. Maurice dedicated his life to serving the citizens of Matagorda County. The memories go back so much farther, I will cherish them always. May God bless and comfort him and his family, amen.
