Memories of India: found some sketches and little oil paintings of Rajasthan and posting as requested! The brown toned sketches were painted on a coffee wash to tone down the white and thereafter painted with a thick paste of coffee with a touch of white gouache - it created a interesting sepia effect. Of course this was all well and good until the paintings started to go moldy!!! The oils were done in a fairly traditional manner… the camel man was in the desert, the fruit seller in Mandawa, and the last is the crematorium just outside Jodhpur (if memory serves me correctly)
