Memory Of The Shoah (Shema Israël) Now more than ever we need to come together & remain united as the jewish people. We need to support Israel in whatever way we can so that we prevent any future Shoah from ever happening again! It is also appropriate to light Yahrzeit candles for our dearly departed on Yom Kippur. The flame of the candle symbolizes the flame of the human soul which is never extinguished and which continues to burn brightly in our lives, especially when we honor the memory of our loved ones. We should also light a Yahrzeit candle for the 6 million jews who lost their lives during the Holocaust.
