Mental health is just as important as physical or physiological - TopicsExpress

Mental health is just as important as physical or physiological health. I once read in a book that a mental disease occur when our minds are controlled by our thoughts. And our mind is healthy when we controls our own thoughts. Therefore, I emphasize how important it is to start believing in what you are capable of. To get negative thoughts out of your brain, meditate, put positive thoughts on your head, and control your thoughts and emotions. This should be a habit and not an event. It is important to understand that a car can have the best computer and engine, but it won’t perform best and will even break if it is run on soda or beer. The same thing will happen to your body. Even though your mind is healthy, your body won’t be able to get in shape until you take care of it and run it with the right fuel. I have clients who come to me regarding advice on eating habits. They are confused about all the information out there on food. Some people are afraid of carbohydrates and fruits. Some believe in a high fat diet, the high protein diet, eating at nigh will make them fat, and others follow the government recommendations (which is founded by corporations such as meat and processed food producers). There is a lot of confusion in society because every company is trying to sell their products. These companies manipulate studies and tricking consumers to truly only benefit themselves. The author Michael Pollan talks deep in this subject and concluded something very simple: Eat veggies, fruits, grains, low meat diet, not too much food, and stay away from ultra-processed foods. In other words, do not adopt the western diet. Anthony Robbins also talks about confusing information on foods in this society. Back when he was ready to lose weight, he claims to read books from MD authors who could not even agree with the basics. They would contradict themselves with diets and myths. Robbins says he was not looking for credentials. What he wanted was results. He shares his success of weight loss by following just 6 simple rules. Just like Pollan, they tell us to stick to the basics. I have studied the principals that these successful people have used and they work! They have worked for me and for many of my clients. In fact, this is what I also teach. Dieting is not a healthy behavior. Indeed, I have an article dedicated to dieting. I stand for what it works which is lifelong changes. In the following newsletters, I will be talking about what eating habits you should be acquiring to stay healthy. I want you to remember that what you read is ONLY information and will not do any good until you practice it. So stay tuned to learn how to take care of that wonderful machine of yours - your body. Your mind and body should always work in harmony. Committed to your happiness and well-being, Sandro Torres
