Mercedes reveals S63 AMG Coupé Mercedes announces S63 AMG Coupé, a luxury car that can race from 0-62mph in as little as 3.9sec As standard the power is sent to the rear wheels, but buyers can upgrade to a 4Matic all-wheel-drive setup instead. Both versions use a seven-speed automatic gearbox with a paddle shift function to manually swap ratios. The performance figures are suitably brisk, the S63 AMG Coupé racing from 0-62mph in 4.4 sec (4Matic 3.9sec) on to a top speed limited to 155mph. It should sound fast, too, thanks to the inclusion of flaps in the exhaust that open when the car senses you are accelerating hard. Those who opt for a rear-wheel-drive setup benefit from air suspension and the new Mercedes curve tilt system, which leans the car into corners (much like a motorcylist does) to reduce lateral acceleration and create a more planted, enjoyable driving experience. The system works between 19 and 112mph
