Merrimack Lions Club Board of Directors Meeting Tuesday June 10th, 2014 King Lion Doug Haskell called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. The Treasurer’s Report was presented. Lion John Richards motioned to accept the report, 2nd by Lion Alan Hoye. The motion was approved. The Secretary’s Report was presented. Lion John Richards motioned to accept the report, 2nd by Lion Cheryl Ortega. The motion was approved. Old Business Golf Tournament – A committee meeting was held on Monday June 2nd. Registration forms are slow in coming in. Canaan Motor Cross - Eight Merrimack Lions are working on Sunday June 15th at the Canaan Motor Cross Races. Each Lion is paid $100.00, which will be donated to the administrative fund. The Lions working are; Phil, Dennis Doug, Frank, Alan, Cheryl, Alfredo and Katie Ortega. Care Givers – Five Merrimack Lions delivered food for Care Givers on Thursday June 5th. The Lions who worked the delivery are; Dick and Michele, Paul, Cheryl and Alfredo. Walk for Sight – Lions Dick and Michele, John and Laura along with two Leos worked at the NH Association for the Blind Walk for Sight. The Club donated $50.00. ion Alan Hoye motioned to allocate $500.00 of our Administrative Fund toward covering District Governor Sandra’s expenses, 2nd by Lion John. The motion was approved. The Board members decided to put together a list of donations and to approve them all at once. Here is the list that the Board put together. 1. An allocation of $500.00 for the Frank Murphy Scholarship awarded in June 2014. 2. Gift of $50.00 for Valedictorian 3. Gift of $50.00 for Salutatorian 4. Care Givers donation of $200.00 5. Camp Allen donation of $300.00 6. Naticook Day Camp $200.00 toward a campership 7. Home Health &Hospice donation of $200.00 8. Twin State Soccer donation of $150.00 9. NH Association for the Blind donation of $50.00 10. St. John Neumann, St. James and Riverside Food Pantries donation of $250.00 each Lion Dennis Hanson motioned to approve the list of 10 donations listed, 2nd by Lion John Richards. The motion was approved. After much discussion about the Spot Vision Screener the tabled motion from our last Board of Directors Meeting was reopened. Lion Pat Fuller had made the motion that we donate $700.00 toward the purchase of a Spot Vision Screener, 2nd by Lion Dennis Hanson. The motion was approved. Lion Frank DiChiara presented King Lion Doug with a gift certificate from the board as a thank you for hosting our meetings. Lion Paul Pearsall motioned to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Lion John Richards. The motion was approved.
