Merry Monday cinephiles! How was your weekend and what did you see? THOR: THE DARK WORLD dominated at the box office (to nobodys surprise), chances are a lot of you saw it. This morning Jimmy and I reviewed the film for an all-new segment for the MOVIECLIPS network. The highlight viewing of my weekend was Hayao Miyazakis THE WIND RISES, which is receiving a 1-week showing in NY & LA to qualify for its Oscar running. Its a tremendous effort and perfect swan song for one of the greatest living masters of cinema - one of the best animated films in years and one of the best biopics Ive ever seen. Also finished watching BLACK CHRISTMAS which deserves as much if not more praise than HALLOWEEN gets for being the poster child for independent horror and snowballing the slasher post-PSYCHO.
