**Message from Admin** Ok...so Ive had quite a few complaint emails recently and I know there has been a lot of controversy about the group rules, so just to go over this again...Freecycle is group designed for people to GET RID OF UNWANTED ITEMS AND REDUCE LANDFILL. The idea is that people get rid of items they would normally take to the tip or throw away. This group is about saving the environment and limiting waste and sadly things have got a bit out of hand here lately. There are NO RULES about how people get rid of these items and what people do with them after they have collected them. If you are concerned that people may be selling items you have given them, there is one solution..take them to a charity shop or keep them! Yes, selling items from a free site is a grey area in terms of morality but there is no law against it. If the person getting rid of the item cared that much, surely they would sell it? There are some very kind and generous people on this site and we want this to continue. Here are some ideas for Freecycle etiquitte 1.) always be grateful to a person giving away a free item even if you didnt get it 2.) If you are going to sell an item you have bought, might be nice to tell the person what your plans are and drop some coins in a charity pot to ease your conscience ;) 3.) Let the person getting rid of the item decide who gets the item. It is THEIRS afterall and not YOURS to decide who it goes to. 4.) if you dont win an item, its no problem, you didnt have the item before and you dont have it now, so you havent lost anything! 5.) if you are putting a lot of wanted posts on here and taking a lot of items off freecycle it might be nice to have a rummage through your home and put a few items up. 6.) Always be kind folks, life is too short for hate, people being abusive to others will be blocked :) Hope this clears a few things up. Happy freecycling everyone. XXX
